Behind the Foundation Run/Walk:
Since 1989, Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity has been laying the foundation for homes and families. As many family members with lower incomes face the financial hardship of paying and having a home, the very foundation they want to provide for their family and future is sometimes unknown.
The values and aspirations of Habitat for Humanity is to support the families in need of affordable housing. With fundraisers and the support of the community, Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity is able to work and significantly decrease the cost of housing with volunteers during the building process and donations to cover most of the expenses of materials for the home and professionals when they are needed.
Thanks to the help of the Fox Valley and the Chicagoland community, the Afghanzada and Nibitanga families have a foundation for their futures. To have a home and know that they have a safe place for their families, is a foundation for their futures.
The homes for two beautiful families is still being built and will soon have their roof! At this time, the building process has slowed down, limiting the number of volunteers on site causing funding is not coming in.
The foundation was laid this spring at the duplex located at 829/831 Grove Street in Aurora, Illinois. These two families will be moving into these homes soon with your help.

We are a Habitat for Humanity non-profit affiliate in located in Kane County, Illinois. We are dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide, and work in partnership with people of all faiths and races to develop communities for people in need by building and renovating houses, while creating home-ownership opportunities based on the premise of providing a hand up; not a hand out. As an affiliate, we are a grass roots organization that is independently operated under the greater Habitat Covenant. We independently coordinate all aspects of Habitat home building in our area with fundraising, building site selection, partner family selection and support, house construction, and mortgage servicing. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that affordable shelter in safe communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.
